Craig Ferguson, CCIE#43377, has been designing and implementing enterprise networks for over 10 Years. His current focus is consulting with a emphasis on borderless internetworking and datacentre technologies.
His passion for technology like many other people has stemmed from that first personal computer owned as a child. Craig can remember those days fondly, back in 1981 when he received a Commodore Vic 20 for his Birthday, instantly hooked this was followed shortly after by a BBC Model B. At this time the mighty giants of Microsoft and Apple were barely heard of, and Cisco not even founded. While it would be nice to be younger, he considers himself lucky to have experienced the evolution of the IT industry from the humble beginnings. Although not joining the IT industry in a professional capacity until many years after leaving education, his other chosen career paths have always maintained a close link with technology of some description. When the decision was finally made to work within the IT industry, the intention was to concentrate on Microsoft based technologies, but this was short lived when he discovered Cisco CLI and the world of networking, today that enthusiasm continues on.
